BIOL 156 - Hormones and Society

For non-science majors. Students will learn about the major hormones produced by our bodies, as well as their effects on physiology and behavior. Students will learn to critically evaluate claims made by mainstream media and pharmaceutical advertisements about the effects of hormones, including doping, sex change, sleep induction, and effects on the natural environment. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
