An in-depth study of a particular topic in film history or criticism. Topics such as Independent American Cinema, Black Cinema, Queer Cinema, Film Censorship, Women in Film, Screen Violence, Film, Gender and Sexuality, Hollywood Auteurs, Postwar U.S. Cinema, the Studio System, Italian-American Cinema, The History and Aesthetics of Stereoscopic Cinema, Films about the Holocaust, Latinx Films and Filmmakers. Letter grade. Repeatable for credit if the topic is different. (Offered every semester.) 3 credits
