FP 541 - Visual Effects for Editors

Prerequisites, FP 515, film production major with editing emphasis. Visual effects allow filmmakers to take the audience on journeys to places that have ceased to exist or that have never existed, and to see things that we could only imagine. VFX For Editors provides grad students with an understanding of the world of digital imagery, visual effects and animation, focusing on their history, current status, and effect on film, television, and other media. Students gain hands-on experience with the techniques and execution of visual effects as pertaining to the film industry, and the workflow and structure of motion graphics and CG animation. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
