PHRM 527 - Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Transitions


Prerequisites, PHRM 526, PHRM 540, PHRM 543, PHRM 546, PHRM 549, PHRM 552. The APPE Transition block focuses on enhancing student learning in five key domains: The Pharmacist Patient Care Process (PPCP), literature evaluation, patient care skills, and application of foundational knowledge and communication skills. The APPE transition block integrates previously learned topics into complex cases activities, as would be seen on APPE rotations. Students will be expected to demonstrate higher levels of learning such as analyzing, evaluating, and creating. Multiple modalities of assessment will be employed including simulation, skills workshops, presentations, wrtitten examinations and quizzes, and multi-station OSCE as the final exam. This course includes a lecture and required laboratory component (4 credits Lecture/1 credit lab). Pass/No Pass. (Offered every year.) 5 credits
