PT 651 - Scientific Inquiry II


Prerequisites, enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, PT 650 . This course is the second in the Scientific Inquiry series with a focus on statistics and the use of computational methods to support physical therapists in a clinical environment. This course introduces power, effect size, descriptive and inferential statistics through lectures, review of current literature, and applications of computer programs/platforms to ask clinically applicable questions. Students continue to develop critical reading of physical therapy literature and analysis of clinically applicable outcomes through a project using Excel/SPSS, a software environment for statistical computing and graphics.  Letter grade. (Offered as needed.) 2.5 credits
