SCI 503 - Research Development

The objective of this course is to develop the skills of graduate students regarding the process of research, including best-practices for carrying out research, proposal writing, and preparing manuscripts for publication. The course will help students become familiar with the practices of successful researchers. Students will identify common pitfalls in proposal and manuscript writing and develop the skills needed to successfully carry out research, focusing on discipline-specific practices. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. (Offered fall semester.) 3 credits
