CSD 519 - Deaf Culture, Sign Language and Brain

Prerequisite, communication sciences and disorders majors only. Prerequisite, communication sciences and disorders majors only. Introduction of signed languages, and deaf culture. How the brain processes and learns language, including signed languages, bilingualism and relationships between thought and language. Emphasis is on linguistic diversity, equity and inclusion of underserved communities and community-based research and practice. Letter grade. (Offered every year.) 3 credits
